Project description
This is a project I did with two of my friends where we made a fictional film, and a website. The goal of this project for us was to raise some issues we see with social media. We focused specifically on criticizing toxic masculinity and radicalization as our main topic for the film and digital privacy for the website.
In this movie we follow our main character that is being stalked by the personification of a social media algorithm. He follows our main character, collecting information about every part of his life, while influencing him to make more and more questionable decisions.
In this production I was responsible for sound and lighting on set, and the creating of the whole website. I knew that for my bachelor I wanted to learn how to use WordPress, Blender and get better at using Figma. And for my thesis I wanted to explore the role storytelling plays in design.
The website contains it’s own story with the characters I created. The goal of it was to create an extension to the movie and add an interactive element to the story that helps the viewer to reflect on their own media habits.

For this project I created two character designs, the cute small robot and the scary humanoid robot. Both designs were created from scratch by me using Blender. I also created the Algorithms data collection view using Figma.
The white room scenes were the result of team work to make them happen, I created the white room with feedback from the rest of the group. It was very important to match the camera angles and lens focal length so the background fits for the scenes that we filmed with a green screen.
